Erect, succulent shrub or small tree upto 5 m high. Stem 5-angled; branches terete with 5 more or less spirally twisted ribs. Leaves obovate-oblong crowded at the end of stem, subfleshy, glabrous. Involucres ternate, yellowish, the lateral ones pedicelled and bisexual, central ones male and sessile, glands without petioled limb, transversely oblong, yellow. Capsules obovoid-trigonous, deep red or pale-brown, smooth, glabrous; seeds smooth. |
