Description of Species Deciduous trees, to 8m high; young branches densely golden tomentose. Leaves ovate, elliptic or oblong, acute, obliquely cordate at base, velvety tomentose on both sides. Flowers yellowish – green, in few flowered, leaf opposed cymes. Sepals 3, ovate, acute. Petals 3 + 3; Carpels oblong; stigma subsessile, concave, bilobed. Fruits purple – black, ellipsoid, 1 – 2 seeded berry – like clusters. Leaf Details Leaves ovate, elliptic or oblong, acute, obliquely cordate at base, velvety tomentose on both sides.
