Description of Species |
Large, prickly climbing shrubs, up to 12 m long; prickles sharp, recurved; branches downy. Stipules semisegittate. Leaves pinnae 6 – 10 pairs; leaflets opposite, 8 – 12 pairs, ovate – oblong, glabrous above, puberulous beneath, minutely petiled. Flowers yellow, axillary or terminal racemes; bracts lanceolate, rusty tomentose. Calyx pubescent, lobes oblong or spathulate. Petals bright yellow, Stamens 10, free, much exserted; filaments woolly at the base. Ovary subsessile. Pods woody, glabrous, mottled – brown or black. |
