Evergreen or subdeciduous shrubs or trees, to 7 m high; branches terete, tomentose throughout. Leaves alternate, broadly ovate-elliptic, acute or acuminate, entire, glabrate above, pubescent beneath, base obtuse; petioles 2-3 mm long; stipules subulate. Flowers pale-green, in axillary clusters; male on long slender pedicels. Perianth lobes 5-6, connate. Stamens 3. Fruit acapsules across, orbicular, depressed, deeply 8-lobed. |
