Description of Species Prostrate or ascending small undershrub, up to 1 m tall, often woody at base. Leaves ovate – cordate, acuminate, serrate with alternate short teeth, sparsely pubescent on both surfaces; petioles long, swollen at base as well as apex; stipules linear, filiform, hairy. Flowers pedicel jointed above the middle. Calyx campanulate, 5 – fib; lobes connate to the middle, triangular, acuminate, ciliate. Corolla yellow; petals obovate, almost equal or larger to sepals. Staminal column to 3 mm long, sparsely pubescent. Mericarps globose, enclosed in persistent calyx, 2 – awned, hairy at top; seeds brownish – black, glaucous.
