| Description of Species | Perennial, yellowish – stellate tomentose shrubs, prickles stout, recurved. Leaves ovate – elliptic, sinuate or shallowly lobed, base subcordate or truncate, acute or obtuse, stellate hairy above, tomentose beneath, mid rib and occasionally lateral nerves with scattered prickles. Flowers blue, peduncle lateral, usually in pairs, one bearing a solitary fertile flower and the other raceme of males. Calyx prickly, densely tomenotse. Corolla hairy on both sides. Ovary globose.
