Description of Species | Shrubs up to 3 m tall, densely pubescent overall with many-rayed, grayish stellate hairs. Stems with stout, bark smooth with reddish or pale-yellow prickle. Leaves simple, alternate; leaf blade ovate to elliptic, many-branched stellate hairs, base cordate or cuneate, margin sinuate or usually 5-7-lobed, apex acute. Flower many, racemose panicles, andromonoecious. Calyx cup-shaped, pubescence as on pedicel; lobes ovate-lanceolate. Corolla white, rotate, lobes ovate-lanceolate.
