Leaves bifarious, obliquely cordate at base, shortly acuminate at apex, elliptic to obovate, serrate, scabrous above, densely pubescent beneath; petioles pubescent; stipules deciduous. Flowers pinkish-red; calyx laterally compressed, somewhat 2-lipped, hairy; petals reflexed; staminal exserted; stamens 10. Fruits cylindrical composed of 5 spirally twisted, beaked follicles, on a long androgynophore; seeds many, angular, wrinkled. |
