Description of Species A straggling or subscandent shrub. Leaves elliptic ot oblong, less often obovate, subacute to rounded at the apex, subcordate, rounded or cuneate at the base. Flowers green or purplish in axillary, few flowered fascicles. Male flowers. Stamens 5, the inner 3 connate, outer 2 free and shorter. Female flowers. Ovary 5-10-celled. Fruit a berry. subglobose, purplish-black when ripe. Seeds 8-10, surrounded by pulp.
