Description of Species |
Shrub up to 2 m tall. Stems, including older woody parts, densely greyish velvety with a covering of prostrate and some spreading glandular hairs. Leaves ovate, toothed to almost lobed, flat or somewhat narrow at the base. Flower-spikes consists of 4-12-flowered, white or pink, separated clusters on very short peduncles. Bracts are linear-subulate; sepals nearly equal, elegant, oblong-elliptic narrowed at base, sepals scarcely enlarging in fruit. petal tube slender straight, upper lip is entire, hairy; lower lip 3-lobed, median slightly larger. Fruit nutlets flat at the tip. Apically ± truncate and papillose. |
