Evergreen trees, up to 8 m high, with gray-brown rough bark; young parts gray-tomentose. Leaves ovate or elliptic-ovate, acute or acuminate, gray-tomentose beneath; lateral nerves 8-13 pairs. Flowers whitish to yellowish, 8-12 together in umbellate; bracts tomentose, rounded. Perianth incomplete, irregular. Stamens 10-20 or more, in male flowers; filaments hairy. Stigma dilated in female flowers. Fruits globose, across, black, seated on persistent base of perianth. |
