Description of Species A much branched, evergreen shrub or a small tree, with short, bent trunk; branches divergent; bark grey. Leaves simple, whitish-green, coriaceous, or somewhat fleshy when mature, linear-lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, acute or subobtuse, often mucronate, glabrous; nerves indistinct. Flowers greenish-white, sessile in erect, compact, axillary, paniculate spikes, often clustered and shorter than leaves; calyx cup-shaped, cleft about half-way down into 4, rounded, obtuse lobes; corolla lobe obovate-oblong, obtuse. Stamens 4, epi-petalous, alternating with corolla lobes. Fruit a berry, subsessile, ovoid-globose yellow when ripe, dark-brown or red when dry, supported by persistent calyx. Seed 1, erect.
