A deciduous tree up to 20 m tall. Leaves pinnate, glabrous, leaflets sub - sessile, 4-8 pairs, opposite to sub-opposite, lanceolate to oblong, entire, acute to acuminate, oblique. Flowers greenish-yellow in terminal, pubescent panicles. Sepals unequal, elliptic-oblong to ovate, margin ciliate, glandular at the tip. Petals lanceolate ovate, clawed, ciliate. Stamens 8, free, filament, oblong. Ovary sessile, obovate, 3-locular, glabrous. Stigma 3-lobed. Fruit a drupe, globose, hard or coriaceous when dry, yellowish-brown, 1-seeded, 2 undeveloped cocci at the base. Seed black to dark brown. |
