Description of Species | Shrub up to 4 m tall,stem pale, terete or subsulcate, glabrous or pubescent,spines 6 – 20 mm long, subterete, 3 – fid. Leaves subsessile, oblanceolate to ovate, 1.5 – 4.5 x 0.5 – 1.5 cm, attenuate at base, acute mucronate at apex, entire or 2 – 4 spinulose along margins. Inflorescences racemose or subfascicled, 5 – 20 flowered. Sepals in three whorls, outer ones ovate, obtuse, innermost obovate. Petals obovate, emarginated with acute lobes, glands separate. Stamens 6, apiculate. Ovules (3)4, shortly stipitate.
